Jefferson County has seen a large number of homicides in the past four years, many accounted for, but others remain under investigation by law enforcement agencies.

2023 had at least 118 homicides including a shooting in April at Old National Bank in downtown Louisville where five people were killed. The shooter was killed by police.

The Courier Journal tracks homicides reported by LMPD and other local departments to memorialize victims, follow the cases and keep the public informed. Below is a list of homicides police have reported, with additional information about the cases and the response.

1 dead, 1 injured after shooting inside Dixie Highway business

One man is dead and another is injured after a shooting on June 29 inside a business on Dixie Highway, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police said.

LMPD Third Division responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 11:23 a.m. in the 8800 block of Dixie Highway, spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene and another was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital with survivable injuries, Mitchell said.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting.

Man dies after shooting on Algonquin Parkway

A man is dead after a shooting June 28 on Algonquin Parkway, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police said.

LMPD Second Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 8:30 p.m. at 23rd Street and Algonquin Parkway, spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.

Mitchell said officers found a man who had been shot and was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital where he died.

Mitchell said there are no suspects in connection to the shooting and the LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating.

Daviawn J. Blackmon

A boy is dead after a shooting on Louisville's South Shelby Street on June 27, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police said.

LMPD First Division officers responded to a call at 10:30 p.m. in the 500 block of South Shelby Street and found a teenage boy with a gunshot wound, spokesperson John Bradley said.

Officers and medical personnel rendered first aid until emergency medical services took him to the University of Louisville Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified him as 13-year-old Daviawn J. Blackmon.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating and there are currently no suspects in connection to the murder, Bradley said.

One man and one woman die in separate shootings

A man and a woman are dead after being injured in different shootings on June 26, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police said.

LMPD First Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 9:30 a.m. at 26th and Market streets, spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said. He said they found a woman shot who was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital where she died from her injuries.

LMPD Second Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 10:30 a.m. in the 700 block of South 38th Street, Mitchell said. He said officers found a man who had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mitchell said the department has not seen any correlation between both shootings.

There are no suspects in connection to either shooting and the LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the incident.

Tayshawn Thomas

Two men are dead after being involved in separate shootings in the Algonquin and Smoketown Jackson neighborhoods on June 25, a spokesperson with Louisville Metro Police said.

Fourth Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at 12:21 a.m. in the 1500 block of Bellamy Place, in an apartment complex near Seventh Street, spokesperson Matthew Sanders said. Officers found Tayshawn Thomas, 19, with multiple gunshot wounds inside the apartment where he was pronounced dead after officers and firefighters attempted to save his life.

Fourth Division officers responded to another call about a shooting approximately 30 minutes later in the 800 block of South Jackson Street where they found another young man with gunshot wounds, Sanders said. He was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Sanders said "there is no indication the two shootings are related."

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the incident.

Joseph D. Bowers

One man is dead and seven other people were injured after a shooting early Saturday morning outside a business in Louisville's Russell neighborhood, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police said.

LMPD First Division officers responded to a call of a shooting at approximately 12:47 a.m. outside H20 at 25th and Broadway, spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

When officers arrived, they found a man outside the business with gunshot wounds, Ellis said. Officers rendered first aid until emergency medical services arrived and pronounced him dead.

Joseph D. Bowers, 40, of Indianapolis was identified as the victim killed in the Saturday morning shooting, according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.

Another man was also outside the business with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital and his injuries are critical and life-threatening, Ellis said. Six other people went to hospitals around the area, by private means, with non-life threatening injuries.

Police don't know the relationship of the victims, if any. The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting and there are currently no suspects.

One dead, one injured after shooting on Greenwood Road

One man is dead and another was injured on June 18 after a shooting at the Greenwood Boat Ramp, a spokesperson with Louisville Metro Police said.

LMPD Third Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 3 a.m. in the 8200 block of Greenwood Road, spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. He said that the first officers that arrived found a man with a gunshot wound.

Officers rendered aid before the man was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he died from his injuries, Ellis said.

Ellis said another man was taken to the same hospital by private means and he also had a gunshot wound. He was was being treated with non-life threatening injuries.

Ellis said the relationship between the two men, if there is any, is currently unknown.

James O. Reece has been charged in connection to the homicide, a release stated. He faces charges of murder, first-degree assault, tampering with physical evidence and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the incident.

Lajuante Lane

A man is dead after he was shot on Woodcross Place, a spokesperson with Louisville Metro Police said.

LMPD Seventh Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 3:12 a.m. on June 14 in the 5500 block of Woodcross Place, spokesperson John Bradley said. He said police found a man with a gunshot wound and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Lajuante Lane, 33.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the incident and there are no suspects in connection to the homicide, Bradley said.

One dead after shooting in Louisville's Jacobs neighborhood

An 18-year-old man is dead after he was found shot on June 13 in Louisville's Jacobs neighborhood, a spokesperson with Louisville Metro Police said.

LMPD Fourth Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 12:46 a.m. in the 3700 block of West Wheatmore Drive, spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said. When they arrived, they found a man who had multiple gunshot wounds.

The man was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital where he died from his injuries, Mitchell said.

Mitchell said there are no suspects in connection to the homicide.

One dead, one injured after shooting on Dixie and Hill streets

One man is dead and another is injured after a shooting on June 8 on Dixie and Hill streets, according to a spokesperson with Louisville Metro Police.

LMPD Second Division officers responded to a call about a shooting before 3:30 p.m. in the vicinity of Dixie Street and Hill Street and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds, spokesperson John Bradley said.

Both men were taken to the University of Louisville Hospital where one was pronounced dead. The other is in stable condition, Bradley said.

The Jefferson County Coroner identified 16-year-old Sam Kamara as the deceased victim.

Bradley said the LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the incident. There are currently no suspects in connection to the shooting.

Jibril Tariq Liles

A man was found dead following a shooting on June 4 in Shively, a spokesperson for the Shively Police Department said.

Shively Police responded to a call about shots being fired at approximately 11:40 p.m. in the 3100 block of Clinton Place, spokesperson Jordan Brown said.

Jibril Tariq Liles, 20, was found with multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene, Brown said.

Brown said there are no suspects in connection to the shooting.

Man dies from shooting in Taylor Berry neighborhood

A 19-year-old man died at the University of Louisville Hospital after he was shot in the Taylor Berry neighborhood June 2, Louisville Metro Police said.

The man and a 17-year-old boy, who was also shot, were found by Fourth Division officers in the 1300 block of Earl Avenue, after officers received a report of a shooting in the area, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said in a statement. The boy was also sent to the University of Louisville Hospital. He is expected to survive from his injuries.

Mitchell initially said the man who had been shot was suffering from non-life threatening injuries. Mitchell issued a second statement about the man's death on June 3 just before 8 a.m.

LMPD's homicide unit is leading an investigation into the incident. There are no known suspects.

Jamila Jackson

Jamila Jackson, 45, died after a shooting near Pleasure Ridge Park on June 2, Louisville Metro Police said.

At about 11:23 p.m., Third Division officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 3100 block of St. Anthony Gardens Drive, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said. Officers found two women who had been shot in the area. The women were sent to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment.

One of the women was pronounced dead shortly after she arrived at the hospital, Mitchell said. The other woman appears to have non-life threatening injuries.

Police have not located any suspects, Mitchell said. LMPD's homicide unit is investigating.

David Andino

Louisville Metro Police are investigating a homicide that occurred June 1.

In a statement that Saturday, LMPD said Fourth Division officers responded to a report of a shooting at about 1:25 p.m. in the 3600 block of Georgetown Place. Officers on the scene found an adult man who had been shot — he was taken to University of Louisville Hospital, where he was pronounced dead soon after.

LMPD is investigating. No suspects have been named or arrested.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the man as 70-year-old David Andino of Louisville.

Man dies from shooting in Louisville's Park Hill neighborhood

A man died after a shooting in the Park Hill neighborhood May 30, Louisville Metro Police said in a statement.

Second Division officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1500 block of Dumesnil Street just before 2 p.m., LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said. Officers located a man who had been shot. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mitchell stated "all parties involved had been accounted for," though no arrests have been announced.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating the incident.

Man dies from shooting in California neighborhood

A man died after a shooting in the California neighborhood on May 29, Louisville Metro Police said in a statement.

Second Division officers responded to reports of a shooting near the 2300 block of Grand Avenue just before 9 p.m., LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said. A man was found in his home with fatal gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.

The Homicide Unit is investigating and there are currently no known suspects.

Man dies from shooting near Portland neighborhood

A man died after a shooting in the Portland neighborhood May 21, Louisville Metro Police said in a statement.

First Division officers responded to reports of a shooting near the 500 block of North 20th Street at 10:25 p.m., said LMPD spokesperson Matthew Sanders. A man was found in the street with a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to U of L Hospital in "grave condition."

He was later pronounced dead at U of L, spokesperson John Bradley said May 23. The Homicide Unit is investigating.

Johnathon Rodgers

Johnathon Rodgers, 14, died in a shooting near the Chickasaw neighborhood May 21, Louisville Metro Police said in a statement.

Second Division officers responded to calls of a shooting near the 3400 block of Garland Avenue at 9:19 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found a juvenile with a gunshot wound to the head, LMPD spokesperson Matthew Sanders said.

Rodgers was pronounced dead at the scene and LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating.

Nicolas Wedding

Nicolas Wedding, 34, died in a shooting near the Okolona neighborhood May 21, Louisville Metro Police said in a statement.

At 9:01 p.m., Seventh Division officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 3500 block of Versaille Lane where they found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest, LMPD spokesperson Matthew Sanders said.

He was conscious at the scene and transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he died in surgery. Around 11:30 p.m., the Homicide Unit arrested and charged 31-year-old Nathan Short of Louisville with one count of murder in connection with the incident, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said in a statement.

Two die from shooting near Bashford Manor neighborhood

A man and woman were killed in a shooting in the Bashford Manor neighborhood May 19, Louisville Metro Police said in a statement.

Just before 10:30 p.m., Sixth Division officers responded to a shooting report in the 100 block of Trafalgar Square, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. Officers found an adult woman deceased from an apparent gunshot wound and an adult man deceased from a gunshot wound.

LMPD’s Homicide is handling the investigation.

Dion R. Smith Jr.

Dion R. Smith Jr., 21, died after a shooting at a business in the Iroquois neighborhood May 18, Louisville Metro Police said in a statement. Another man was injured in the shooting, but is believed to have non-life threatening injuries.

Just before 9 p.m., Fourth Division officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 4400 block of Taylor Boulevard, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. Officers found Smith Jr. and another man suffering from gunshot wounds. The officers rendered first aid until EMS could arrive.

The men were sent to the University of Louisville Hospital, where Smith Jr. would die after arrival, Ellis said. The other man was "alert and conscious" while receiving treatment for his injuries.

LMPD arrested 18-year-old Gage L. Lewis in connection with the homicide. He was booked into the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections May 19 and has an arraignment scheduled for May 20 at 9 a.m. in Jefferson District Court.

Takieo Thomas

Takieo Thomas was killed May 16 in a shooting near Louisville's Petersburg Park, Louisville Metro Police said in a statement.

Sixth Division officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 5000 block of East Indian Trail just before 9 p.m., LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said. Police found Thomas, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

LMPD’s Homicide Unit is investigating and there are no known suspects, Bradley said.

Brenda Kemp

Brenda Kemp, 73, died in Old Louisville on the morning of May 15, Louisville Metro Police said in a statement.

At around 5:10 a.m., Fourth Division officers responded to a call about an incident at an apartment at the Friendship House, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. Upon arrival, officers found a woman suffering from stab wounds.

EMS was called to the scene and pronounced the woman dead, Ellis said. LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating the incident.

The Homicide Unit arrested and charged 73-year-old Kenneth Muse, of Louisville, in connection to the homicide. Muse is being held at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.

Stephan Adams

Stephan Adams, 34, of Louisville, died from a shooting in Louisville's Russell neighborhood on the morning of May 14, Louisville Metro Police said in a statement.

At 1:50 a.m., First Division officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 1000 block of Esquire Alley, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police and EMS personnel attempted CPR and "other life saving measures," but were unsuccessful and pronounced the man dead at the scene, Ellis said. Adams was identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on May 15.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating the incident, Ellis said. There are initially no known suspects.

Dakoven Ford

Dakoven Ford, 27, died from a shooting in Okolona the night of May 11, Louisville Metro Police said in a statement.

At 11:45 p.m., Seventh Division officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 7500 block of Dunwoody Court, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said. Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police and EMS personnel attempted to perform CPR and "other life saving measures," but were unsuccessful, Bradley said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating the incident, Bradley said. There were initially no known suspects.

David Martinez

David Martinez was found dead along railroad tracks and appeared to have died from a shooting, Louisville Metro Police said in a statement.

At 6:15 p.m. on May 11, Fourth Division officers responded to a report of a possible deceased person in the area of Allmond and Louisville avenues, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said. Upon arrival, officers found a man who appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Officers notified LMPD's homicide unit, which is now conducting an investigation.

Police have not yet located any suspects, Bradley said.

Adrian Lewis

Adrian Lewis, 31, died from gunshot wounds May 11 in Lyndon, Lyndon Police Chief Robert Schroder said in a statement.

Around 5:30 p.m., Lyndon police officers and personnel from St. Matthews Fire and EMS responded to a reported shooting in the 8300 block of Vermissa Court. Upon arrival, officers found a man who had been shot multiple times, Schroder said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lyndon police requested the assistance of Louisville Metro Police's Eighth Division and homicide unit, Schroeder said. LMPD's homicide unit is leading the investigation.

Aaron Anderson

Two men are dead and two additional people were injured Saturday morning in a shooting inside a business in Louisville's Southland Park neighborhood.

Louisville Metro Police Department Third Division officers responded to a call about a shooting after 5 a.m. in the 200 Block of Evangeline Avenue and found several people who had been shot, including one who was pronounced dead at the scene, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said. That person was later identified as 26-year-old Aaron Anderson.

At the business, officers also found a man and a woman who had been shot, and they were taken to the University of Louisville Hospital. Bradley said another man arrived later at the University of Louisville Hospital with a gunshot wound, and an investigation revealed he had been injured at the business as well.

A short time later, a second man died from his injuries at the University of Louisville Hospital.

A third man is still in stable condition and the woman is in stable but serious condition, Bradley said.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting.

Man dies from shooting in Buechel park

A man is dead following a shooting at Norfolk Acres Park in Buechel on May 8, Louisville Metro Police said.

Around 3:23 p.m., officers with the Sixth Division responded to a call of a shooting in the 4300 block of Coram Way, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said. Upon arrival, officers located a man who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating, Mitchell said. There are no known suspects.

Jashawn Crook

Louisville Metro Police officials are searching for suspects following a homicide just before midnight on May 6.

LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said the shooting was reported at 11:58 p.m. in the 2500 block of West Chestnut Street. Officers found a man who had been shot who was pronounced dead at the scene, Mitchell said.

Jashawn Crook was identified as the person killed in the homicide, according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office. According to the release, he died on May 6.

No suspects had been identified in the hours following the shooting. The victim has not yet been identified by authorities.

Jeffrey Wilson

A man was found with fatal injuries on May 4 on Preston Street, Louisville Metro Police said.

LMPD Fourth Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 4:36 p.m. in the 1300 block of Preston Street and found a man who had been shot, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.

He said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

There are currently no suspects in connection to this homicide.

Darren Hickson

Darren Hickson, 39, died May 3 from a shooting in the Portland neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police stated.

Around 2:30 a.m., First Division officers were dispatched to the area of 28th and West Market streets on a report of a person down. Officers arrived to find Hickson suffering from a gunshot wound. Hickson was sent to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he later died, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating the incident.

Shawn’tae’veion Bullitt

Shawn’tae’veion Bullitt, 17, is dead after a shooting on May 1 in Louisville's Garland Avenue, Louisville Metro Police stated.

LMPD Second Division officers responded to a call about a shooting before 4 p.m. on 28th Street at Garland Avenue and found a boy who had been shot several times, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.

Bullitt was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital where he died due to his injuries, Mitchell said.

There are currently no suspects.

Keevan Brown

Keevan Brown died April 24 after a shooting in the area of 10th Street and Broadway following a "collision involving several vehicles," Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

When First Division officers arrived at the scene, they found a man inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS later declared the man dead at the scene, Ellis said.

Another man was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital, though LMPD did not know his condition, Ellis said. Detectives are trying to determine what vehicle he was in.

There were no other reported injuries.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating the incident. There are no known suspects, Ellis said.

Aaron Nolan

Aaron Nolan died April 23 after he was shot inside a convenience store in the Parkland neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police stated.

Around noon, Second Division officers responded to a SpotShotter alert in the 3300 block of Greenwood Avenue, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said. Inside the store, officers found a man who shot multiple times. Officers and emergency medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the man died at the scene.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the man who died from the shooting as 35-year-old Nolan.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating the incident. There are no known suspects.

Walter Egan

Walter Egan, 59, died April 15 from a shooting in the Park Hill neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police stated.

At 10:36 p.m. on Feb. 20, Second Division officers responded to a 911 call for service in the 1700 block of Bolling Avenue. Officers found Egan suffering from a gunshot wound in his abdomen when they arrived on scene. Egan was sent to the University of Louisville said. Doctors at the hospital told LMPD officers Egan's injuries were "serious in nature," but he was expected to survive. LMPD spokesperson Matt Sanders said in a statement.

Egan later died in the hospital, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said.

Man dies after being shot in Louisville's Saint Joseph in March

A man shot March 30 in Louisville's Saint Joseph neighborhood was pronounced dead April 20, Louisville Metro Police stated.

LMPD Fourth Division officers responded to a shooting call in the 600 Block of Eastern Parkway, in the area of Eastern Parkway and Bradley Avenue, and found a man with a gunshot wound in his abdomen, a spokesperson for the LMPD said.

The man, who they believe is in his 20s, was taken to University of Louisville Hospital in "critical condition," the original statement said.

The LMPD said they believe a suspect left the scene on foot in the westbound direction.

Demetrius Johnson, 35, was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon in connection to the homicide.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting.

Aljay Williams

Aljay Williams is dead and two others are in critical condition after a shooting in Jeffersontown, Louisville Metro Police stated.

Jeffersontown Police responded to a shooting at approximately 1:21 a.m. on April 19 in the 9900 block of Taylorsville Road and found three people with gunshot wounds, Richard W. Sanders, Chief of Police with Jeffersontown Police Department, said.

According to the police department, the shooting happened during a gathering at an apartment and the people knew each other.

Williams was pronounced dead a the scene and two other people are in critical condition, Sanders said.

Man dies after shooting in Taylor Berry neighborhood

A man was killed April 17 after he was shot in the Taylor Berry neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

Around 5 p.m., Fourth Division officers responded to a shooting in the 3400 block of Taylor Boulevard, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said. Upon arrival, officers located the man who was shot. He was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he later died.

Mitchell said Raymond Holmes was arrested and charged with murder and receiving stolen property in connection to the homicide.

Julius Gray

A man was killed April 17 in Louisville's Portland neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police stated.

LMPD First Division officers responded to a call at approximately 10:15 a.m. in the 1600 Block of Nelligan Ave and found a man with multiple gunshot wounds, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was later identified as 33-year-old Julius Gray.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the incident and currently has no suspects in connection to the case, Bradley said.

Jennifer Lynn Davis

A man is facing several charges, including murder, in connection to an April 16 crash that killed bicyclist Jennifer Lynn Davis on Preston Highway, according to court documents.

Juan Fernando Munoz Alcala is facing several charges in connection with the crash, including one count of murder, one count of first-degree wanton endangerment, one count of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol .08 and one count of failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, court documents show.

LMPD Sixth Division officers responded to a call about a pedestrian struck at approximately 12:40 a.m. at the intersection of Preston Highway and Durrett Lane, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

According to the preliminary investigation and witnesses, a woman, later identified as 39-year-old Davis, was riding her bicycle northbound on Preston Highway when she was struck by a black pickup truck driving in the same direction, Ellis said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to court documents, Munoz Alcala called 911 to say he had crashed a shopping cart at a Thornton's location in the 3300 block of Preston Highway. Officers later determined he was the person involved in the bicycle crash following an investigation.

Ronald A. Washington III

Ronald A. Washington III, 22, is dead following a shooting on April 15 in Louisville's Shively neighborhood, Shively Police Department officials said.

Officers responded to a call at approximately 11:50 p.m. in the 1800 block of Appleton Lane where Washington III was found with gunshot wounds, Sgt. Jordan Brown said.

Washington III died at the University of Louisville Hospital on April 16 at 1:20 a.m., according to a release from the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.

There were initially no known suspects, Brown said.

Man dies in shooting in Park DuValle

A man died April 8 after he was shot in the Park DuValle neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

Police were called to a shooting at 26th Street and Wilson Avenue around 10:30 a.m., where they found a man who'd been fatally injured, according to a news release. Officers later determined the shooting had taken place in the 1700 block of Cypress Street, less than a mile away.

Police believe "all parties involved have been accounted for," the release stated, though no arrests have been announced.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating.

Christopher Harrison Jr.

Christopher Harrison Jr., 19, died April 7 in the Hikes Point neighborhood after he was shot inside his vehicle, Louisville Metro Police said.

Around 1 a.m., Sixth Division officers were dispatched to a call of a shooting at the intersection of Pamela Way and Hunsinger Lane. Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating the incident. There were no known suspects.

Gregory Powell Jr.

Gregory Powell Jr., 33, died from a shooting near the Buechel neighborhood April 3, Louisville Metro Police said.

Around 1 a.m., Sixth Division officers were dispatched to the 4300 block of Norbrook Drive for a report of a person down, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said. Upon arrival, officers found a man who appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating the incident. There were no known suspects, Bradley said.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the man as Powell.

Dominique Dudley

A man died after being shot inside a convenience store in the Park Hill neighborhood on March 30, Louisville Metro Police said.

At 2:13 p.m., Second Division officers responded to a 911 call of a shooting at the store in the 1800 block of West Oak Street, LMPD spokesperson Matthew Sanders said.

Inside the store, officers found the man, later identified as 29-year-old Dominique Dudley, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Personnel from Metro EMS and the Louisville Fire Department pronounced him dead at the scene, Sanders said.

Marcus McGinnis is being charged in connection to the homicide with murder, convicted felon possession of a handgun, and first-degree wanton endangerment, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said in a release. A Jefferson County Grand Jury returned an indictment with his charges on May 8 following the investigation.

McGinnis is currently in custody on an unrelated charge.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating the incident.

Dwight Anthony Lewis

A man died after being stabbed in the Smoketown neighborhood just before midnight on March 24.

Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of East Broadway, where they found the man near a railroad bridge suffering from stab wounds, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. Officers and EMS professionals rendered aid. He was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he died shortly aftefr arriving.

He was later identified as 44-year-old Dwight Anthony Lewis.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating, Ellis said. There were initially no known suspects.

Kush Muhammad

A man died following reports of a shooting in the parking lot of a White Castle restaurant in the 1900 block of South Seventh Street in the Algonquin neighborhood on March 24.

Officers found evidence of a shooting when they arrived but did not locate a victim at the scene, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

Further investigation found he was transported by private means, but died before arriving at the University of Louisville Hospital.

He was later identified as 25-year-old Kush Muhammad.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating, Ellis said. There were initially no known suspects.

D'Andre Jenkins

A man died from multiple gunshot wounds in the area of the Algonquin and Park Duvalle neighborhoods on March 21, Louisville Metro Police said.

Second Division officers were called to a report of a shooting in the 1800 block of Cypress Street around 4:30 p.m., LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said. Officers and EMS personnel rendered aid to a man who had been shot, but he later died at the scene.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating, Bradley said. There were initially no known suspects.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the man as 19-year-old D'Andre Jenkins.

Darryl Malone III

A man died in a hospital March 17 after he was shot near the Cloverleaf neighborhood, according to Louisville Metro Police.

Third Division officers were dispatched to a call of a shooting around 12:45 a.m. in the 2800 block of De Mel Avenue, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said.

Officers did not locate a shooting victim at the address, but shortly after they arrived at the scene, they were notified a man who had been suffering from gunshot wounds at the scene was transported by private means to Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital. The man was later pronounced dead.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating, Bradley said. There were initially no known suspects.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the man as 20-year-old Darryl Malone.

Zerefino Alverez Mayorga

A man died in a hospital from multiple stab wounds March 15, according to Louisville Metro Police.

Third Division officers found the man at 2:38 a.m. in the 1400 block of Glengarry Drive while responding to a call of a stabbing in the area, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said. The man was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he later died.

LMPD's homicide unit is conducting an investigation, Bradley said. There were initially no known suspects.

Louis House, Da'Vionna Sloane, unborn child

A man and a woman were found shot inside a car on March 13 in Louisville's Park Hill neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

Second Division officers responded to a ShotSpotter call at approximately 11 p.m. in the 1700 block of St. Louis Avenue and found a man and a woman inside a car with gunshot wounds, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.

He said both victims were taken to the University of Louisville Hospital where they died from their injuries.

Mitchell said the woman was pregnant and therefore the shooting is now being investigated as a triple homicide.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the incident.

Brandon Adams

A man died in a hospital on March 11 after he had been found suffering from gunshot wounds a day earlier, Louisville Metro Police said.

First Division officers responded to a call of a shooting in the Portland neighborhood at about 4:45 a.m. on March 10, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said. Officers found a man who had shot at 25th and Crop streets.

The man was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he later died.

LMPD's homicide unit is leading an investigation into the incident, Bradley said. There were initially no known suspects.

Da’moni Martell Smith

Police found a man with a fatal gunshot wound March 9 in Louisville's Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police stated.

Third Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at approximately 12:45 a.m. in the 1700 block of Bonnyville Boulevard and were later notified that Da’moni Martell Smith was in the 4900 block of Dixie Highway, LMPD spokesperson said.

The victim had a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene, Mitchell said.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the incident.

Corrion Williams

A man was found dead on March 5 at Oya Liquor Inc, Louisville Metro Police stated.

Second Division officers, along with the Louisville Fire Department and Louisville Metro Emergency Management Services, responded to a call about a shooting at 2135 Dixie Highway and found a man with multiple gunshot wounds dead inside the liquor store, LMPD spokesperson Matthew Sanders said.

"We believe this senseless act might have been witnessed by several people," Sanders said.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the incident.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the man as 20-year-old Corrion Williams.

Carlos Hamilton

A man died March 5 from multiple gunshot wounds while inside his car, Louisville Metro Police spokesperson John Bradley said.

Second Division officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of Shagbark Road around 2:30 p.m. The man found inside his car was declared dead at the scene, Bradley said.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating.

Man dies from shooting in Bon Air area

A man died from a gunshot wound March 4, two days after he was taken to a hospital for treatment.

On March 2 at 1:30 p.m., Louisville Metro Police officers found the man lying on the ground in the area of Del Rio Place and Commander Drive, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. Officers rendered aid while waiting on EMS to arrive. EMS transported the man to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he later died.

Police arrested Lacardo Wilson, 44, on May 14, who now faces a murder charge in connection to the incident. Wilson is being held at the Louisville Metro Department of Correction.

Theodore Brown

A man died March 3 after a shooting inside a bar in the Deer Park neighborhood.

Louisville Metro Police responded to 911 calls of a shooting at Cafe360, 1582 Bardstown Road, around 3:30 a.m., department spokesperson Matthew Sanders said. Officers at the scene located the man and called for Louisville Metro EMS. Medics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating. Police believe there were several witnesses to the incident and are asking anyone with information to call the anonymous tip line, Sanders said.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the man as 21-year-old Theodore Brown.

Camren Patterson

Camren Patterson, 21, died from gunshot wounds after was shot March 2 at a South Louisville park.

Officers from the First Division received a call about Patterson after he had walked in to Norton Hospital on East Chestnut Street sometime before 9:40 p.m. Patterson was then sent to U of L Hospital, where he died.

Police believe the man was involved in a shooting near Huston Quin Park, where officers found another man suffering from gunshot wounds. That man is receiving treatment at U of L Hospital.

Sanders said LMPD had not determined what happened at the park. The homicide unit is investigating the incident.

Daryasia Wingo, Aubrey Spry Jr.

Two people were found shot in a home March 2 in the 3300 block of Noe Way.

Sixth Division officers went to the home around 7 a.m. on a report of a downed individual. Officers found an adult man and an adult woman with gunshot wounds.

Daryasia Wingo died on scene while the man was taken to University of Louisville Hospital with a critical, life-threatening gunshot wound, police said.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the man as 57-year-old Aubrey Spry Jr.

LMPD’s Homicide Unit is investigating and believes all parties are accounted for.

Larry M. Walker

A man died March 2 following a shooting on South Fourth Street downtown.

Officers found Larry M. Walker with a gunshot wound around 7 a.m. in the 500 block of South Fourth Street. He was taken to University of Louisville Hospital, where he died.

A woman who police say was also shot in the same incident arrived at the hospital a short time later and is in stable condition.

LMPD’s Homicide Unit is investigating and has no known suspects.

Leonardo Rojas Pedroza

Leonardo Rojas Pedroza, 26, died Feb. 26 in a shooting in Fern Creek, Louisville Metro Police stated.

Seventh Division officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 5500 block of Overbrook Woods Place at about 11:40 p.m., according to department spokesperson Aaron Ellis. Officers attempted life-saving measures on a man found at the scene, but EMS later pronounced him dead.

Three other men who had been shot were also found by officers and taken to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment, Ellis said. Those injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Alain Garcia Perez

A man was found dead in the 800 block of Inverness Avenue on Feb. 25, Louisville Metro Police said.

Spokesperson John Bradley said officers were called to the scene and found the man, who had sustained apparent blunt force trauma-related injuries.

He was later identified as 45-year-old Alain Garcia Perez by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.

An initial investigation revealed Garcia Perez's car had been stolen and was later found in Florida, near Miami. The person found in possession of the vehicle is currently considered a person of interest, but has not been named as a suspect, Bradley said.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate.

Kenneth Frazier

A man was pronounced dead on Feb. 24 after being injured from a gunshot wound in Louisville's Russell neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police stated.

First Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at about 10 a.m. in the 300 block of S. 18thStreet near Jefferson Street and found a man injured with a gunshot wound inside a residence, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

Emergency medical services pronounced him dead at the scene, Ellis said.

There are no suspects in connection to the homicide, and the LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating.

Devon Johnson

A man died Feb. 20 after being shot in Louisville's Taylor Berry neighborhood, Louisville Metro Police said.

Fourth Division officers responded to a call about a shooting after 1 p.m. in the 1500 block of Homeview Drive and found a body with what seemed a gunshot wound, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the homicide. There are no suspects arrested in connection with the shooting.

Kylee Miller

Kylee Miller was found dead at a residence Feb. 18 as part of a suspected homicide, according to the Louisville Metro Police. LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said officers responded to a home in the 6300 block of Sydney Renee Way around 11 p.m. to check on the well-being of the resident.

When they arrived, police found a deceased woman. The preliminary investigation indicated she had a gunshot wound and foul play is suspected.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified 21-year-old Miller.

Richard Goodman was arrested and charged in connection to Miller's murder on Feb. 27, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.

Brian Paulley

A man died on Feb. 16 in Louisville's Jacobs neighborhood after being shot, Louisville Metro Police said.

Fourth Division officers responded to a call about a person being shot at approximately 7:40 p.m. in the 3700 block of Craig Avenue and found a man who had what appeared to be a gunshot wound, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bradley said the LMPD Homicide Unit is handling the investigation and there are no suspects arrested in connection to the homicide.

Ronald F. Batey

A man died Feb. 11 after being shot in western Louisville, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.

Around 4 a.m., officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 2500 block of West Broadway. Upon arrival, officers found a man who had been shot. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating. There were initially no suspects.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the man who died as 37-year-old Ronald Batey.

Ronald J. Hall III

A man died Feb. 11 following a shooting in the Okolona neighborhood, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.

Around 1:15 a.m., officers from the Seventh Division responded to a call of a shooting in the 7400 block of Egypt Lane. Upon arrival, officers located a man who had been shot inside his car. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating. There were initially no suspects.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the man as 27-year-old Ronald Hall.

Woman dies in shooting in the Southland Park neighborhood

A woman was found dead by police Jan. 30 in a residence in the 6400 block of Kenjoy Drive, a day after officers filed a missing persons report at the same address, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said.

Officers determined the woman died from a fatal gunshot wound, Bradley said. LMPD's homicide unit investigated the incident and later issued an arrest warrant. Maryland State Police later arrested a man, 41-year-old Tho C. Luong, in connection with the shooting.

Corey R. Dillard, Jagger Zahnd

A man died Jan. 31 from a shooting in the Russell neighborhood, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.

Around 12:30 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the area of South 12th Street and West Muhammad Ali Boulevard where four men were found suffering from gunshot wounds. One man was pronounced dead at the scene and the other three were sent to the University of Louisville Hospital, where they were in critical condition, Mitchell said.

A second person died they day after the shooting from the injuries sustained, LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said on Feb. 20.

The first victim was later identified as 22-year-old Corey R. Dillard by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office. The second was latter identified as 22-year-old Jagger Zahnd.

There are no suspects. LMPD said residents should send any tips to the department's tip line at 502-574-LMPD.

Dovia Pernell

A girl is dead of gunshot wounds after being found in the 1700 block of Patton Court Monday morning.

According to a release, the girl was found at around 10:40 a.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

She was later identified as 15-year-old Dovia Pernell by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.

There are currently no known suspects.

Joyce O'Bannon

A woman died of stab wounds Jan. 26 after Louisville Metro Police officers found her on the floor inside a residence in the Russell neighborhood. EMS later arrived and pronounced the woman dead at the scene, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

Around 10:30 a.m., officers received a call about a person injured on the 2300 block of Magazine Street.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating the incident. There were initially no known suspects.

Kevin Ardis

A man died Jan. 26 one day after police officers found him suffering from gunshot wounds in the Russell neighborhood.

Around 7 p.m. on Jan. 25, LMPD received a call about a reported shooting in the 2100 block of West Muhammad Ali Boulevard. LMPD officers and EMS performed first aid at the scene until an ambulance arrived, Bradley said.

The man, later identified as Kevin Ardis, was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment in serious condition, but he later succumbed to his injuries, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said.

The LMPD's Homicide and Fugitive Apprehension Units arrested Tysean Malique Effinger on Feb. 26 in connection to the homicide. He is charged with murder and convicted felon in possession of a handgun.

Chad Smith Sr.

A man is dead Jan. 21 following a shooting on South Fourth Street, near West Liberty Street in the Central Business District.

Louisville Metro Police, Louisville Fire Department and EMS personnel responded to a report of a shooting at the300 block of South Fourth Streetat 3:57 p.m., a MetroSafe representative confirmed.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating the shooting.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the man who had died as 38-year-old Chad Smith Sr.

LMPD later arrested 33-year-old Jordan Davis in connection to the shooting.

Steven Hubbard

Steven Hubbard, 35, died from a shooting in the Russell neighborhood Jan. 20, Louisville Metro Police stated.

First Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at midnight in the area of 31stStreet and Del Park Terrace and found a man suffering from "an apparent gunshot wound," LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said. He said emergency medical services tried to render first aid, but they pronounced him dead at the scene.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting and there are no suspects arrested in connection to the homicide.

Victor Jones

Victor Jones, 43, died from gunshot wounds in the Crescent Hill neighborhood Jan. 18, Louisville Metro Police stated.

Just after 10:15 p.m., Fifth Division officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2700 block of Brownsboro Road. Officers arrived to find Jones suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating.

Daniel Q. West

Louisville Metro Police officers responding to a call at 6 p.m. on Jan. 13 found a man shot.

He was transported to University of Louisville hospital, where he died, LMPD reported.

The shooting occurred in the 400 block of Muhammad Ali Boulevard, at Dosker Manor.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the man as Daniel Q. West, 32.

LMPD later arrested 51-year-old Enus Stovall in connection to the shooting.

Zacarion Depp

A child was shot on Louisville's West End on Jan. 13, Louisville Metro Police reported.

The 4-year-old later died after being taken to Norton Children's Hospital, according to Dwight Mitchell, an LMPD spokesman.

Police responded to the call at 3:50 p.m. in the 800 block of S. 37th Street, in the city's Chickasaw neighborhood. They found the child suffering from a gunshot wound.

Mitchell said the department's homicide unit is conducting the investigation and all parties involved in the shooting had been accounted for.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the 4-year-old as Zacarion Depp.

William Kannamore

A man died on Jan. 9 from injuries sustained in a shooting that occurred on Utah Avenue, Louisville Metro Police said.

Fourth Division officers responded to a call about a shooting at 9:22 p.m. in the 3300 block of Utah Avenue and found a man wounded by several gunshot wounds, LMPD spokesperson Matthew Sanders said.

He said officers performed life-saving measures and then emergency medical services transported the victim, who was approximately in his 40s, to the University of Louisville hospital with life-threatening injuries, Sanders said.

Sanders said the victim was taken into surgery, but later died.

He was later identified as 31-year-old William Kannamore.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting. The victim has not yet been identified.

Stepphon Pattrick Garner

A man died Jan. 1 after he was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the area of Lytle and North 20th streets, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

First Division officers located the man in the rear of a residence, Ellis said. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

LMPD's homicide unit is investigating the incident, Ellis said. There are no known suspects.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office later identified the man as 31-year-old Stepphon Pattrick Garner.
